SOUP KITCHENS

Soup Kitchens

MPC runs two soup kitchens, serving elderly Russian pensioners

and single mothers and children daily.

Since opening in 1991, the Mosfilmovskaya Soup Kitchen has served

over two million meals to elderly Russian pensioners.

At Mosfilmovskaya Soup Kitchen, MPC serves hot meals through a local stolovaya, or cafeteria, to 200 elderly Russian pensioners. Originally opened in 1991, several of our soup kitchen clients have been with MPC since the opening, a testament to the value of our services to this specific demographic. The average pensions for Muscovites is $120/month, and one daily hot meal greatly alleviates the financial burden which many elderly pensioners face.

At Kuznetsky Most Soup Kitchen, MPC serves daily meals to 100 young widows and single mothers with several children. The majority of our clients take the food to go in order to enjoy the meal with their family at home. Kuznetsky Most has become a place of community and support for many low-income mothers, and a daily meal for the entire family eases the financial burden for their everday stuggles.

Soup Kitchen Volunteers:

MPC is always in need of volunteers to distribute food and serve meals at the Mosfilmovskaya Soup Kitchen, especially on Tuesday and Thurdays.
